Frequently asked questions
Why is Fascia Stretch Therapy™ considered a cutting-edge approach?
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ is grounded in the latest understanding of fascia — the connective tissue that supports muscles, joints, and movement patterns. While therapies like massage, physiotherapy, and chiropractic care have long histories, research into fascia has expanded rapidly over the last 30 years.
One exciting development in fascia research is the 2018 discovery of fasciacytes, specialized cells that help fascial layers glide smoothly. Findings like this highlight how our understanding of fascia is constantly evolving, making FST™ a cutting-edge approach to improving movement and mobility.
FST™ applies these insights in a systematic, global approach that addresses mobility, alignment, and movement patternsacross the entire body. Because this science is emerging, FST™ is considered innovative, offering clients a method that complements established therapies while delivering lasting improvements in performance, recovery, and overall movement health.
Athletes, active adults, and individuals managing recurring tension or overload often see significant benefits, whether they’re working to optimize performance, maintain flexibility, or prevent future injuries.
When is Fascia Stretch Therapy the right choice?
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ is a whole-body, movement-focused approach designed to unlock mobility, enhance performance, and support long-term recovery and resilience.
It’s ideal for anyone who feels stiff, restricted, asymmetrical, or “stuck” in their training or daily movement — not just those experiencing pain. FST™ addresses compensatory patterns, muscles, fascia, and joints together, helping the body move more efficiently and effectively.
Athletes, active adults, and individuals managing recurring tension or overload often see significant benefits, whether they’re working to optimize performance, maintain flexibility, or prevent future injuries.
How is Fascia Stretch Therapy™ different?
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ (FST™) is a whole-body, movement-focused approach designed to unlock mobility, performance, and resilience. Unlike traditional therapies that often focus on localized pain or a single joint or muscle, FST™ addresses the body as an interconnected system. This allows clients to improve functional movement patterns, restore global mobility, and enhance long-term recovery.
FST™ is safe, effective, and can be used alongside physiotherapy, massage, or chiropractic care to support your body’s overall performance and efficiency.
What happens during a discovery call?
During a discovery call, we’ll discuss your current challenges, goals, and movement patterns. This conversation allows you to explore how Fascia Stretch Therapy™ can support your mobility, recovery, and athletic performancewith a personalized approach.
This is your opportunity to gain clarity and ensure FST™ is the right fit before booking your first session.
I’m not an athlete — can I still come to see you?
Absolutely. While FST™ is widely used by athletes, it also benefits active adults and individuals looking to improve mobility, comfort, and daily movement efficiency. Many people feel stiff, restricted, or limited due to desk work, repetitive tasks, stress, or long‑standing habits.
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ uses the same movement‑focused, performance‑oriented approach favored by athletes, but tailored to your body, goals, and capacity. You don’t need to train like an athlete to enjoy lasting improvements in movement quality and physical comfort.
Do you work with children or young athletes?
Yes, Fascia Stretch Therapy™ can be adapted for children with parental consent.
Children — especially young athletes — may experience unique mobility challenges as bones and muscles grow at different rates. Repetitive sport movement patterns can also contribute to tightness and imbalance. FST™ helps support healthy movement, improve flexibility, and encourage balanced biomechanics in a safe, age-appropriate way.
A parent or guardian signature is required for clients under 16.
How many Fascia Stretch Therapy™ sessions will I need?
Many clients notice improvements within the first few sessions, with some feeling significant relief after just one or two. However, the most meaningful and lasting results come from consistent sessions tailored to your goals, allowing your body to fully integrate the work.
FST™ is designed as a corrective, whole-body approach, often addressing movement patterns and restrictions that traditional therapies may miss. Every body responds differently. Athletes, high-intensity trainees, and those with chronic or long-standing issues may require more sessions and greater consistency to achieve optimal results.
Do you offer Fascia Stretch Therapy™ in-home visits?
Yes, full-day corporate events can be arranged. Individual house calls, however, aren’t part of the service offering due to additional time, travel expenses, and logistics, which render in-home visits impractical.
Our dedicated studio environment provides a focused, uninterrupted space that supports deeper fascia work and seamless movement integration, allowing each session to be fully immersive and effective.
Do you offer memberships or session packages?
Yes. In addition to individual Fascia Stretch Therapy™ sessions at the standard drop-in rate, clients can choose multi-session packages with upfront payment. Packages are often ideal for those who prefer to commit to a series of sessions in advance.
Memberships provide a monthly payment option with flexible booking and preferred per-session rates. They are well suited to clients who value consistency, flexibility, and ongoing movement care.
What if I can’t find a session time that works for me?
Looking for an appointment but don’t see a time that works?
If an after-work appointment is needed due to work or training commitments, Thursdays are designated late days. These time slots are limited and tend to book quickly, so booking ahead is recommended.
If a suitable time isn’t visible — or if an earlier appointment is needed — clients are welcome to reach out by email using the contact details in your booking confirmation or the contact form on the website. When possible, small scheduling adjustments can sometimes be made behind the scenes to better accommodate availability.
While alternative times cannot be guaranteed, every effort is made to help where feasible.
Why am I asked to provide a credit card to book an appointment?
A credit card is used to hold your reserved session time, similar to a hotel reservation. This ensures your dedicated time is protected while also allowing other clients timely access to available appointment slots.
You can pay with your preferred method at the time of your session, regardless of the card on file.
What if I don't use a credit card?
Debit cards with the VISA symbol can be used just like a credit card.
If you’re booking without a credit card, full payment must be received at least 24 hours in advance via e-transfer. To protect your reserved session time, appointments without advance payment may need to be cancelled.
This client agreement helps ensure that all clients’ dedicated time is respected and that each session is valued as premium care.
How is my private information protected?
We understand that sharing personal health information requires trust, so protecting your data is a top priority. That’s why we use JaneApp, a secure and reputable practice management platform, to manage intake forms and client records.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

A reminder email is sent 24 hours before your appointment as a final notice of this client agreement. Late cancellation fees are automatically charged to the card on file.
We understand that unexpected situations arise. If you need to make a change, please contact us as soon as possible so we can explore alternatives with care and flexibility.
Can I fill out my intake forms at my appointment?
To make the most of your session, please complete your intake forms at least 24 hours in advance. This allows your practitioner to review your information, prepare for your session, and ensure enough time to discuss your goals and provide focused treatment.
A reminder will be sent the day before your session. If forms are incomplete at the time of your appointment, your session time cannot be extended to accommodate form completion.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for Fascia Stretch Therapy™?
No. A doctor’s referral is not required to book Fascia Stretch Therapy™ (FST™) at Unwind. Sessions are designed to support your performance, recovery, and overall movement health, and you can begin without a medical referral.
Do you accept insurance or direct billing?
Fascia Stretch Therapy™ (FST™) is offered through private practice and is not usually directly billable under extended health benefit plans. Since coverage varies by plan, you’re welcome to submit a receipt for possible reimbursement through a health spending account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA).
Many clients choose FST™ for its focus on performance, recovery, and long-term mobility, rather than based on coverage.
Can I use my Extended Benefits or HSA/FSA?
Yes, Fascia Stretch Therapy™ is often reimbursed under an HSA or FSA. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend checking your employee benefits package.
Receipts can be provided upon request.
